KILL THE EGO @ CIRCUITO OFF VENICE INTERNATIONAL SHORT FILM FESTIVAL

Kill the Ego will be screened on September 4, 2010, at the prestigious Circuito Off Venice International Short Film Festival in Venice. The festival program describes the film thus: “This film is the encounter between the work of American painter Rostarr and sound recordings that Soundwalk did in New York between 1998 and 2008. Rostarr captured the sound material and placed in matter in motion and color the words of fragmented memories, poets and prophets, visionaries and lost children. A story, a tribute to the city, is emerging in the assembly of these micro-narratives.”

THE STANDARD x LIMITED EDITION ARTIST SCARVES

The Standard has once again commissioned some of their friends to do artist collaborations for this Spring release. Featuring three artists representing LA, NY and Miami —Thomas Campbell (for LA), Rostarr (for NY) and José Parlá (for Miami) to design art printed on a limited edition run of silk-cashmere scarves (only 100 pieces of each design produced). These artists are known for their graphic language and the ‘pattern-like’ feel often associated with their artwork. The lightweight scarves, just in time for summer, were inspired by The Standard cities and represent each artist’s signature style. Up until this point, the scarves were only available in a preview sale to private collectors, but are now available to the public on shopthestandard.com, as well as at The Standard Spa Miami Beach, Downtown LA and New York boutiques.
